Parking Garage 3 opens with fanfare

Sammy the Owl greeted people as they entered Parking Garage 3 behind Allen Center during the garage’s opening celebration Oct. 16. The facility, which opened Oct. 9, features (below, from left) new parking technology such as a counter that displays how many spaces are available, electric vehicle charging stations and secure bike storage. The parking garage is part of what is officially named the Cambridge Office Building, which is now home to Rice’s Controller’s Office, Human Resources, Development and Alumni Relations, Information Technology, Risk Management, Internal Audit, Parking and Transportation, Crisis Management and the Liu Idea Lab for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
