The Moody Center for the Arts celebrated its 1st birthday with cocktails and cake

Moody Center first birthday party

The sun sets over the Moody Center as it kicks off its first birthday celebration.

The Moody Center for the Arts celebrated its first birthday Feb. 23 with a festive indoor-outdoor party and live concert by the Wild Moccasins. The large, west-facing doors that separate the Central Gallery from the Moody Center’s patio and lawn were opened wide and encouraged guests to enjoy “Pile the Wood High!” and other ongoing exhibitions between bites of food truck fare, sips of craft beer and cocktails and rounds of cornhole. The evening was capped off with slices of cake decorated to mirror the building’s architecture, as befits any good birthday party. (Photo by Katharine Shilcutt)
