OwlCon held its yearly gaming convention Feb. 23-25, and it featured hundreds of events across campus all weekend long. Rice Memorial Center’s Grand Hall was transformed into an exhibitors’ room featuring local purveyors of gaming products and accessories, while other spots within the RMC hosted ongoing gaming tournaments. Board game competitions such as large-scale Settlers of Catan took over Sammy’s, and tabletop role-playing games (RPGs) like Dungeons and Dragons filled the Farnsworth Pavilion in the Ley Student Center. Live action role-playing found fans of Firefly congregating in Hermann Brown Hall and Key Master players in the amphitheater at Herzstein Hall, while fantasy RPG aficionados played Pathfinder Society at Brockman Hall. This was the 37th year OwlCon held the convention. (Photo by B.J. Almond)
