The Rice chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, the oldest academic honor society in the U.S., will induct 93 new members at a ceremony May 11.
Election to Phi Beta Kappa recognizes outstanding achievement in the liberal arts and sciences. To be considered, a student must have completed at least 90 semester hours in courses that reflect the pursuit of learning for its own sake rather than for the development of professional skills.
