Three Rice graduate students were awarded fellowships from Mexico’s Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología, a national organization that promotes scientific and technological research and sets government policies related to those activities. Viridiana Leyva and Cecilia Martínez Jiménez of chemistry and María José Peláez Soní of applied physics earned the award, which covers tuition and a substantial portion of the students’ stipends over a period of four years.
