Rice University vice president for enrollment available for interviews at Salt Lake City conference

HOUSTON – (Sept. 27, 2018) – Rice University Vice President for Enrollment Yvonne Romero da Silva is available for interviews during the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) Conference, which is taking place in Salt Lake City Sept. 27-29 at the Salt Palace Convention Center. The conference brings together more than 6,500 secondary and postsecondary college admission counseling professionals to exchange ideas, discuss current trends and to hear from experts.

Romero da Silva can discuss Rice University’s new initiative to make higher education more affordable by dramatically expanding financial aid provided to students from low-income families to those with incomes up to $200,000.

Under The Rice Investment program, full-tuition gift aid, including scholarships and grants, will be awarded to degree-seeking domestic undergraduates with family incomes between $65,000 and $130,000 with typical assets who are eligible to receive need-based financial aid. In addition, students with family incomes between $130,000 and $200,000 will receive gift aid covering at least half of their tuition. Students from families with annual incomes less than $65,000 with typical assets will receive gift aid covering tuition, room and board and mandatory fees.

Romero da Silva can also address current topics and trends in admissions, along with tips for students who are currently working on their early decision admission applications throughout the United States.
