Tony Payan, director of the Mexico Center at Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy, spoke at Farnsworth Pavilion Oct. 19 on the funding opportunities available for Rice faculty and doctoral students through the Puentes Consortium. Puentes is a consortium of American and Mexican universities aiming to promote multidisciplinary research on issues of importance to the relationship between the two countries. Current members of Puentes are Rice, Universidad de las Américas Puebla, Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey and Universidad de Monterrey.
