Mikki Hebl, the Martha and Henry Malcolm Lovett Chair of Psychology at Rice, is the recipient of the Female Career Award given by the Equal Opportunity Committee of the Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Lausanne in Switzerland. The award is given twice a year, once each to a male and female researcher affiliated with an institution other than the University of Lausanne, in recognition of outstanding academic careers.
Rice applied physics graduate student Melia Bonomo, bioengineering graduate student James Liman and Center for Theoretical Biological Physics visiting scholar Tim Burt each won best paper honors at the Oct. 20 joint fall meeting of the Texas sections of the American Physical Society, the American Association of Physics Teachers and the Society of Physics Students, which was held at the University of Houston.
