Ruth López Turley, a professor of sociology, associate director of Rice’s Kinder Institute for Urban Research and director of Rice’s Houston Education Research Consortium, was part of the committee responsible for drafting the “Long-Range Plan for Public Education,” which was released earlier this month by the Texas State Board of Education.
