Government officials, business leaders and other experts gathered at Rice’s Baker Institute for Public Policy March 7 to discuss how Houston can take a key role in state and national discussions on immigration. Speakers and panelists included Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner, who gave the keynote address and took questions from Baker Institute Mexico Center Director Tony Payan, and Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo, who took part in a conversation with Kate Vickery, executive director of Houston Immigration Legal Services Collaborative.
