Werner Kelber, the Isla Carroll and Percy E. Turner Emeritus Professor of Religious Studies, will receive the 2019 Walter J. Ong Award for Career Achievement in Scholarship from the Media Ecology Association (MEA) at its convention June 27-30 in Toronto. The MEA awards committee chose Kelber because of his exemplary record of scholarship and innovation bridging information studies, media studies, globalization and new media.
