Karin Broker, professor of printmaking and drawing in the Department of Visual and Dramatic Arts (VADA), hosted master printer Patrick Masterson Sept. 25 for an intimate roundtable talk at Rice’s Printpalace in Sewall Hall. The two discussed Masterson’s recent work in collaborating on a series with woodcut artist Tom Huck.
Masterson, who co-founded Houston’s Burning Bones Press alongside artist Carlos Hernandez, also teaches printmaking at the University of Houston in addition to a beginning printmaking course at Rice. He will return to the Printpalace Nov. 1 for an all-day Rice Guest Artist Day alongside Broker and VADA assistant professor Natasha Bowdoin. The Guest Artist Day, free and open to the public, will run from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. in the Printpalace; refreshments will be served. (Photo by Jeff Fitlow)
