Malutka II is the university’s newest public art acquisition, a 7-foot piece carved from cedar and cast in bronze that’s tucked under the trees between Allen Center and the Cambridge Office Building. The work is the latest in New York-based sculptor Ursula von Rydingsvard’s four-decade body of work. Malutka II is her only piece on display in Houston, and Rice’s first piece of outdoor art by a female artist. (Photo by Jeff Fitlow)
