Rice volleyball sweeps past Oklahoma for first-ever NCAA Tournament triumph

The Rice volleyball team recorded the first NCAA Tournament victory in program history by defeating the University of Oklahoma 25-18, 25-22, 25-19 Dec. 5 in College Station, Texas.

In the second round Dec. 6, Rice lost 26-28, 32-30, 25-20, 25-15 to host Texas A&M University, ending the Owls’ season at 27-4.

Rice’s Nicole Lennon recorded a match-high 16 kills in the victory over Oklahoma. The Owls were winless in four previous trips to the tournament.
