Fagundes named fellow of Academy of Behavioral Medicine Research

Christopher Fagundes, an associate professor of psychological sciences at Rice University, has been elected as a Fellow of the Academy of Behavioral Medicine Research (ABMR) in recognition of his research and contributions to his field.

ABMR provides a forum for leaders in behavioral medicine to promote excellence in science, contribute guidance for the direction of the field and serve as a resource for governmental and academic entities as well as the general public. The organization is committed to the development and application of the highest quality of behavioral medicine research to improve the health and well-being of the world’s citizens and the effectiveness of interventions in behavioral medicine.

“I am honored to be elected to the Academy of Behavioral Medicine Research, especially at this point in my career,” Fagundes said. “I want to thank my entire lab for all of their hard work. I am so lucky to have excellent staff, undergrads, grad students, postdocs and early stage faculty working with me.”

This is not the first time Fagundes has been recognized by the ABMR. In 2018, he received the organization’s Neal Miller New Investigator Award.
