A flu shot clinic for members of the Rice community that was postponed because of Hurricane Nicholas has been rescheduled for Sept. 28.
Vaccinations will be available from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. in the Cambridge Office Building’s conference rooms 110, 114 and 116. No appointment is necessary, but Rice ID cards are required to confirm eligibility of employees, while students must bring their health insurance cards for an appropriate claim to be processed and a credit card in case their insurance is not accepted (the shots are fully covered under Affordable Care Act-compatible plans).
The flu shot is required for all graduate and undergraduate students, who must submit proof of vaccination through this form no later than Oct. 15. If a student wishes to opt out for a religious or medical reason, that should be noted on the form and the SHS medical team will follow up.
Employees are strongly encouraged to get a flu shot and may do so through their provider or pharmacy using their insurance in addition to the COB clinics, where there will be special shots available for those over 65.
