advantage of Wellness Center to work off holiday excesses

Now that the holidays are over and the extra pounds have
been counted, the Rice University Wellness Center announces
its spring activity-program schedule.

The program
offers a variety of aerobic and weight-training courses.
Most classes are held in the activity room in the Rice gymnasium.
Classes began Jan. 16, but enrollment is accepted on a continual
basis. Classes end April 28.

Classes meeting
three times per week are $80 for the semester for students,
$95 for faculty and staff, $110 for alumni and $120 for
community members. Twice-weekly classes are $75 for students,
$85 for faculty and staff, $100 for alumni and $105 for
the community. Classes held once a week are $55 for students,
$60 for faculty and staff, $65 for alumni and $70 for the
community at large. A combination of classes meeting three
times per week and those meeting twice each week is $110
for students, $130 for faculty and staff, $165 for alumni
and $175 for the community. A combination of two twice-weekly
courses is $100 for students, $120 for faculty and staff,
$150 for alumni and $165 for the community. Unlimited courses
are $130 for students, $155 for faculty and staff, $180
for alumni and $205 for the community.

Members of the
Rice community also can make use of the gym and pool for
their exercise. The gymnasium is open Monday through Friday,
6 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and
Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Recreational swim hours
are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from noon to 1:30 p.m.
and 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30 to
9 a.m., noon to 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.; Saturday
from 10:30 a.m. to noon and from 2 to 4 p.m.; and Sunday
from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.
