Rice United Way Campaign closes in on goal

The Rice United Way Campaign is 95 percent of the way to its $250,00 goal, with pledges and contributions at $237,125.

The School of Social Sciences continues to lead campus with the most funds raised, $27,420. The Office of Public Affairs and the Office of the Dean of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies both have 100 percent participation. Facilities Engineering and Planning has the largest number of campaign donors, 143.

All of the matching-gift funds from the offer by Rice Board of Trustees Chairman Bobby Tudor ’82 and his wife, Phoebe, have been claimed, which represents $25,000 in new and increased contributions over last year.

Pledges may be made by automatic payroll deduction, spread over all of 2018’s paychecks, via Esther. To give by check or credit card, or to designate any pledge — including a payroll pledge — to benefit a specific United Way agency, geographic area or community program or priority, Rice donors may use the pledge form available on the Rice United Way Campaign website, unitedway.rice.edu.
