Shepherd School Chamber Players to perform Nov. 30
HOUSTON – (XXX. XX, 2017) – Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music will host the inaugural performances of the Shepherd School Chamber Players, a new initiative and extension of the Shepherd School Chamber Orchestra, Nov. 30. The three mini-performances will be held at 5:30, 7:30 and 9 p.m. with intermissions between the concerts.
Who: Shepherd School Chamber Players.
What: Inaugural performance.
When: 5:30, 7:30 and 9 p.m. Nov. 30.
Where: Duncan Recital Hall in Alice Pratt Brown Hall, Rice University, 6100 Main St.
These new performances will feature larger chamber music ensembles such as sextets, septets, octets and nonets, giving Shepherd School students the opportunity to perform repertoire not typically explored in a chamber setting.
“The Shepherd School is the only American institution to devote four weeks of each semester to such a program,” Shepherd School Dean Robert Yekovich said.
All performances will be in Duncan Recital Hall in Alice Pratt Brown Hall. Admission is free and seating is first-come, first served. No tickets are required.
The parking lot across from Alice Pratt Brown Hall is closed for the construction of the new music building. West Lot 2 is now the parking lot for all Alice Pratt Brown Hall/Shepherd School of Music events. Access this lot by entering campus from Entrance 18 off Rice Boulevard and turn right at the parking gates to West Lot 2. For visitors with disabilities, accessible parking is available at the south end of the lot. This is the closest lot to a temporary sidewalk that will service the west entrance to the Grand Foyer of Alice Pratt Brown Hall.
