Brown Bag
Seminar: “Medicare and Rice Health Care Plans: How
Do They Work for You?”

The issue of Medicare and how it interacts with health insurance
plans is a confusing and complex subject.

This topic should
be of interest to almost everyone at Rice — perhaps
some might be looking into the aspect of retiring in the
near future, others might have a parent to whom they provide
some health care advice or assistance or still others may
be the ultimate planner and are already projecting the outcome
of rising health costs upon their future retirement income
and want to maximize each dollar.

Whatever the
reason, take advantage of this opportunity to attend the
February Brown Bag Lunch Seminar Wednesday, Feb. 19, at
noon in the Humanities Building, Room 117.

Rusty Gotcher
from Benefit Planners and Elaine Britt, assistant director
of Human Resources at Rice, will discuss and answer questions
related to Medicare and Rice University’s health-care
plans.

Faculty and staff
are invited to bring their questions and their brown-bag
lunches.

Rice Catering
will serve refreshments and some great door prizes will
be awarded for this session, courtesy of the Houston Aeros,
the Houston Rockets and the Rice Owls Men’s and Women’s
basketball teams.

Congratulations
to Ed Cox, associate professor of history, and Debra Purtee,
assistant vice provost, door-prize winners for January’s
Brown Bag Session on Eldercare and Long Term Health-Care
issues.
