Ford Motor Co. CFO speech kicks off Deans Lecture

Allan Gilmour,
vice chairman and chief financial officer for Ford Motor
Co., will give a presentation titled Leaders and Followers
at the Deans Lecture Series Jan. 22 at the Jesse H.
Jones Graduate School of Management.
Gilmours
lecture will be from 10:15 to 11:45 a.m. Wednesday in the
Shell Auditorium, Room 108, Jones School.
Gilmour had retired
from Ford after serving as vice chairman and member of the
office of the chief executive and the companys board
of directors. He rejoined the company in his current role
last May.
During his 34-year
career, Gilmour served a variety of roles in the company
including president of the Ford Automotive Group, executive
vice president of international automotive operations and
vice president of external and personnel affairs. His previous
jobs with financial duties included chief financial officer,
vice president and controller, and president of Ford Motor
Credit Company.
Gilmour joined
Ford in 1960 as a finance staff financial analyst and later
was supervisor of financial presentations.
He was an assistant
to the executive vice president of finance before joining
Ford Credit as executive vice president of administration.
Gilmour serves
as a member of the board of directors of Prudential Financial,
DTE Energy and Whirlpool Corp. He also is the principal
owner of a Ford and Chrysler dealership located in St. Johnsbury,
Vt.
Born June 17,
1934, Gilmour was raised in Barnet, Vt.
He received a
bachelors degree from Harvard University and an M.B.A.
from the University of Michigan.
The Deans
Lecture Series brings prominent business leaders to talk
with students at formal presentations followed by informal
receptions. This year, lectures focus on understanding the
qualities that make individuals successful leaders, especially
in times of change.
