OISS celebrates international education

International Education Week is Nov. 14-18. The Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) is sponsoring a week of activities on campus to celebrate.

Sammy’s will have an international menu, the Welcome Center will have an exhibition of international flags and Fondren Library will have an international education display.

A full schedule of events is available on the OISS Web site at <www.ruf.rice.edu/~ois>.

IT changes policies

Rice’s Division of Information Technology (IT) will no longer support faculty and staff personal computer equipment. Technology support for personal computers may be arranged through local computer repair centers.

Beginning Jan. 1, IT will no longer support any computer equipment purchased off the Greensheet. Support for any existing Greensheet computer equipment will continue to be provided, based on agreements with each department’s IT divisional support representative.

These policies are part of a broader Service Level Agreement framework currently under discussion with various campus constituencies, including the IT Advisory Committee. This framework provides specific guidelines for supporting a limited, reasonable set of hardware and software systems and services.
