Rice’s Doerr Institute for New Leaders brightened the first week of classes with splashes of color across the newly installed front doors of the Rice Memorial Center. The window-covering clings invited undergraduate and graduate students to sign up for the Doerr Institute’s professional leadership development programs, which are offered at no cost. The institute, established in 2015 with support from a significant gift by alumni Ann ’75 and John Doerr ’73, is the United States’ first professional and comprehensive leadership development initiative at a university.
Earlier this summer, the Doerr Institute was recognized by the national Association of Leadership Educators with the Outstanding Program Award.
