Rice University engineers ‘MacGyver’ an inexpensive ventilator for coronavirus patients
A team of Rice engineering experts and students developed a prototype of a bag valve mask ventilator that can be built for less than $300. Dr. Rohith Malya, adjunct assistant professor of bioengineering at Rice and associate of the Rice 360° Institute for Global Health, and Martel College senior Thomas Herring are quoted. Herring is featured in a broadcast by CTV.
