When it came time to remodel the concessions stands and restrooms at
Reckling Park, Athletics and Housing and Dining decided to add a little
fun to the renovation project.
They sold raffle tickets, raising $1,000 for the Rice Athletics Fund,
and gave first-place winners of the drawing the opportunity to throw
out the first pitch at a Rice baseball game. First-place winners would
also receive an autographed baseball from Coach Wayne Graham.
Second-place winners won tickets to a Rice game.
In addition to their baseball prizes, winners were invited to Reckling
Park Feb. 25 to participate in the ribbon-cutting ceremony and meet the
new concession vender, Prince’s Hamburgers.
