Be a volleyball guest coach

Faculty and staff can see Rice volleyball up close as a “guest coach.” For the fourth season, the team is holding a drawing to choose a few lucky winners to experience matches from a coach’s courtside chair.

Winners can bring a guest and will get to attend the pregame warm-up activities, including the team meal and the coach’s scouting report, and watch the match from two seats on the Rice bench. They also will receive a Rice volleyball memento, public recognition during the match and invitations to a practice session any date ahead of the match and to extra team events during and after the season.

One guest coach will be chosen for each home match. The first home match is scheduled for Aug. 29 at 10 a.m. against the University of Texas at San Antonio. The full team schedule is at http://riceowls.cstv.com/sports/w-volley/spec-rel/070908aac.html.

Faculty and staff should submit their names before Aug. 27 to Genny Volpe, head volleyball coach, at vbguest@rice.edu.
