A ringing success

The three-story Nasdaq OMX billboard in New York’s Times Square heralded the arrival of the 2009 Rice University Business Plan Competition winner, Carnegie Mellon University’s Dynamics Inc. Members of the team presided over the Nasdaq OMX closing bell ceremony June 19. They were joined by Brad Burke, managing director of the Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship, and Marti Boone, senior vice president of marketing for Greater Houston Partnership.

Dynamics won the $325,000 grand prize at the April 16-18 business plan competition with a marketing proposal for interactive credit and debit cards. The Rice Alliance and the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Management hosted the annual business plan competition, which is billed as the world’s richest and largest.
