Planned outages for storage.rice.edu

Rice’s enterprise-level electronic storage system, storage.rice.edu, will be taken offline for maintenance June 6 and June 19-20.

IT will be implementing improvements requested by customers to increase the reliability and recoverability of the system and to improve the usability of storage.rice.edu for Macintosh users.

The majority of the work will be performed during a 12-hour period late June 19 and early June 20. In addition, a maintenance session is scheduled from 8-9 a.m. June 6 to perform preparatory work for the later session.

Careful consideration of the deadlines for closing the university’s fiscal year led to the selection of these two dates and times as the least disruptive for the Rice community, according to the Office of the Vice Provost for Information Technology.
