Rice’s McStay appearing in local play

Kay McStay, associate editor and business manager of the
Rice-based journal SEL Studies in English Literature 1500-1900, will be among
those performing in the upcoming Frenetic Fringe Festival, a showcase of
Houston’s cutting-edge theater, dance, film and music.
McStay will play the part of Sherbert, a medical research
cat, in Loueva Smith’s one-act play “Bruna Bunny and Baby Girl,”
described as a cross between Dr. Seuss and a Grimm Brother’s fairy tale.
The play will be performed Aug. 7 and 8 at 8 p.m. at Frenetic Theater, 5102 Navigation Blvd.
