‘Lily’ lands at Rice

 MIKE WILLIAMS
“Water Lily,” a painting by Quan Hai Pan, has been donated to Rice University by the artist in appreciation for his recent exhibition at Farnsworth Pavilion. Pan, 42, is a native of GuangXi, China, who now spends most of the year in Houston. Renowned for his series of unique water lily paintings, Pan has held major exhibitions in the United States and China, with individual shows coming up in Beijing and Taiwan.

At the presentation, from left, are Lawrence Gochioco and Katy Zhang, Pan’s agents; Pan; Rice President David Leebron; and University Representative Y. Ping Sun.
