Families Weekend 2009

The campus will be buzzing with activity Sept. 24-27 as students and their families reunite for Families Weekend 2009.

A Rice tradition, Families Weekend gives students’ families a chance to experience life on campus while visiting with their Owl.

Families can attend classes with their student, hear lectures by distinguished members of Rice’s faculty, enjoy coffee with President David Leebron at Brochstein Pavilion, attend the grand opening of the new Barbara and David Gibbs Recreation and Wellness Center and participate in roundtable discussions with college masters, resident associates and Rice students. Other weekend activities on the schedule are sporting events, Wiess College Theater, a performance by Rice Philharmonics, a gallery talk about the new exhibit at Rice Gallery and, of course, the home-opener football game against Vanderbilt University.
