A panel of Hispanic media professionals will question the candidates about issues that affect the Hispanic community, such as immigration, the economy and crime.
“This debate will be both lively and extremely informative,” said Art Rascon, moderator of the debate and anchor at KTRK-TV Channel 13. “With the enormous growth of the Hispanic community in Houston, it is crucial for candidates to have a clear understanding of Hispanic issues. This debate will help determine who that candidate is.”
A media panel will include Aurora Losada, assistant managing editor of Spanish language publications for the Houston Chronicle; Renzo Heredia, director of community affairs and host of “La Voz del Pueblo” on Univision Radio’s La Tremenda 1010 AM; and Andrea Gomez, anchor of KXLN-TV Channel 45.
The debate is free and sponsored by the Houston Association of Hispanic Media Professionals and Rice’s Multicultural Community Relations, Public Affairs.
