Ask the expert about risk management Aug. 4

Director of Risk Management Renee Block will explain how her office provides the services to insure, protect and preserve the assets and resources of the university at the next “Ask the Expert” session, set for Aug. 4.

The session will be held in Duncan Hall, Room 3092. Coffee will be available from 8:30 to 9 a.m., followed by the 9-10 a.m. presentation and Q-and-A.

The Risk Management Office manages Rice’s insurance and self-insurance programs covering workers compensation and automobile liability insurance, general and professional liability insurance and property insurance. It also works with other campus organizations on student insurance programs, travel related matters, contract review and insurance requirements, facilities use requests, certificates of insurance, procedures for reporting claims and emergency preparedness planning.
