BB shooters sentenced

The four suspects who were charged with aggravated assault for BB shootings that took place last September near the Rice campus and on Interstate 45 were sentenced this week.

Caitlin Barnett, who is not currently a Rice student, received a $500 fine and two years of deferred adjudication. “That means she will have a clean slate with the court if she stays out of trouble for two years,” said Rice Police Capt. Dianna Marshall.

John Michael Chargois, Bonnie Mugg and Paul Helton each received a $500 fine and five years of deferred adjudication.
