Rice University welcomes 453 incoming graduate students

Last week Rice University freshmen weren’t the only new Owls flocking to campus. The university welcomed 453 new graduate students for a series of orientation events designed specifically for them.

Graduate orientation is our first chance to set our students up for success,” Vice Provost for Academic Affairs and Dean of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies Paula Sanders said. ”For many students, this is their first formal contact with Rice. We’ve designed it along two guiding principles: ensuring that the students feel welcome and providing them with the critical information that they need.”
