The awards were determined by a national panel of judges for overall magazine design and for magazine spreads or features from consecutive issues. In the category of magazine design, Rice entered issue No. 6, which had a cover story on global reach. In a category for spreads and/or features from consecutive issues, Rice entered features called ”Owl Mania,” ”Cooking up the Future” and ”Herding Words.” Entries in both categories won silver ADDY awards and will be entered in the regional ADDY competition to be held this year in Oklahoma City.
