Longtime staff member Sharon Bush dies

Sharon Bush, associate director of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, died April 29.

A longtime member of the Rice community, Bush was pivotal in the formation of the Diversity Council. She was also a Martel College associate and adviser to the Rice Melodious Voices of Praise Gospel Choir.

Services for Bush will be held May 5 at the South Union Missionary Baptist Church, 3550 Lydia St. The viewing will begin at 9 a.m., followed by funeral services at 10 a.m.
