Rice University’s Centennial Campaign earned a National Philanthropy Day Award from the Greater Houston Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. The awards are presented for outstanding achievements by individuals, foundations, corporate philanthropists, fundraising volunteers, professional fundraising executives and nonprofit organizations who contribute their time, talents and financial support to Houston’s philanthropic community. Rice was recognized in the category of “Outstanding Fundraising Program, more than $250K.” Rice announced in June that it has exceeded the $1 billion goal of the largest fundraising campaign in the school’s 100-year history.
