Rice architecture alums’ ModPod to host open house April 12

Three graduates of the Rice School of Architecture will celebrate the completion of their Rice Building Workshop project, the ModPod, with an open house April 12 from 3 to 6 p.m. at 3300 Bastrop St., Houston.

The three alumni, Peter Muessig, Jason Fleming and Andrew Daley, will be on hand to talk about the project once known as the InHouse/OutHouse, in which they inserted a prefabricated unit of their own design into a historic Third Ward row house.

The unit, which contains a full bathroom, heating, air conditioning and a working kitchen, was installed in one day in September 2012. The home is part of Project Row Houses, which will use the building as part of its artist-in-residence program.
