Rice United Way Campaign hits 68 percent of goal

Rice’s United Way Campaign is more than two-thirds of the way to its $200,000 goal. Campuswide donations total $135,660 — 68 percent of the goal.

Employees who have increased their pledges over last year’s amount have gotten in on the limited-time offer to double their contributions and claimed $25,000 of the dollar-for-dollar matching funds from Rice Board of Trustees Chair Bobby Tudor ’82 and his wife, Phoebe.

Leading the campus in funds raised is Engineering with $11,090; Engineering also has the most lead donors — seven. Housing and Dining leads in participation with 48 percent.

Employees may make a pledge payable by payroll deductions spread over all paychecks in calendar (and tax) year 2015 by logging in at esther.rice.edu and clicking the “United Way” link to authorize a direct payroll contribution, or use the pledge form on the Rice United Way website, www.rice.edu/unitedway. That same form may also be used to make a cash, check or credit card gift (for tax year 2014).
