The Genetics Society of America has awarded Sid Richardson senior Meera Namireddy a Victoria Finnerty Undergraduate Travel Award to present her research at the 56th annual Drosophila Research Conference in Chicago in March. Namireddy, who is majoring in biochemistry and cell biology, conducts research under the supervision of Dr. Kartik Venkatachalam at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Namireddy was one of only six students chosen by the society in a national competition to receive the undergraduate travel award.
