Members of the Rice community gathered at Cohen House March 27 to celebrate and bid farewell to Assistant Vice President for Facilities Russell Price. He is retiring after serving the university for 36 years. Price has been instrumental in stewarding the infrastructure growth of campus over the past decade. He came to Rice in 1979 as head of Facility Engineering and Planning’s electrical shop. Just four years later, he became head of all campus shops. He was the first African-American executive on campus and was recently honored by the Rice Board of Trustees for his more than three decades of service to the university.
