Joan Neuhaus Schaan, fellow in homeland security and terrorism at Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy and director of the Texas Security Forum, is available to comment on reports that a U.S. missile killed the radical cleric Anwar al-Awlaki.

Al-Awlaki, a leading figure in the Yemeni branch of al-Qaida, was born in the United States and moved to Yemen in 2004. He has been on a U.S. “capture-or-kill” list for more than two years.
