Energy Futures and Options Focus of CBOT Seminar at Rice
A panel of energy derivative experts will examine risk
management issues unique to the oil and gas industry at the Chicago
Board of Trade’s (CBOT) annual fall research seminar to be held at
Rice University’s Jesse Jones Graduate School of Administration Dec.
11-12.
“Energy Derivatives: Valuation and Risk Management Issues,”
will feature experts from Enron Capital & Trade Resources and Valero
Energy Corp. as well as representatives from Amoco Corp., New York
Mercantile Exchange and the CBOT. The program consists of
competitively selected papers and panels on topics in the area of
futures-oriented research. Approximately 100 academic and industry
experts will attend the seminar, which is being held in cooperation
with Rice and the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.
Another panel, “Perspectives of Derivatives Risk Management,” will focus on
financial risk control and discuss the future of regulation from
varying perspectives. Members of the media are welcome at the
seminar, and copies of the papers presented will be available
through the Rice News Office.
