DISCUSSIONS ON COUNTER
TERRORISM, SECURITY TO BE LIVE ON WEB
Panel discussions about counter
terrorism and international peace and security will be carried live on the Web
at http://www.rice.edu/rtv/ on April
10.
The Overseas Development Council (ODC), in conjunction with the
James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy at Rice University and the John
F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, is undertaking a
bipartisan dialogue on “America’s National Interests in Multilateral
Engagement.”
The event is hosted by Rice’s
Baker Institute.
The first panel discussion on
“Counter Terrorism” will be held from 9 a.m. to noon CDT.
The second panel on “International
Peace and Security” will be held from 1-5 p.m. CDT.
The panel on “Counter Terrorism” will be chaired by Barbara
Crossette of the New York Times, and is scheduled to include Paul Bremer III of
Kissinger Associates Inc., Martha Crenshaw of Weslayan University and a UNA-USA
representative, and Michael Wermuth, a senior policy analyst with RAND.
The “International Peace and Security” panel will be chaired by
Princeton Lyman, visiting fellow of the Overseas Development Council, and will
include former U.S. Air Force Gen. Charles Boyd, Bruce Jentleson of Duke
University, Jeffery Laurenti, executive director of policy studies, UNA-USA, and
Charles Maynes, president of the Eurasia Foundation.
