Schnee Memorial Fund Established

Amanda Schnee, director of the Student Health Service and a 20-year associate
of Rice University, died Sunday, July 19, after suffering cardiac arrest on
July 17.

Schnee’s family and Rice University have created the Dr. Amanda M. Schnee Student
Health Service Memorial Fund to help Amanda realize her goal of enhancing Rice’s
program.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to: Office of
Development — MS 81, Rice University, P.O. Box 1892, Houston 77251-1892. Checks
should be made payable to Rice University; in the memo section indicate "Dr.
Amanda Schnee Memorial Fund."

Anyone wishing to send a letter or card to the family is encouraged to do so.
Her husband and four daughters want to thank you in advance for your support.

Rice News to Resume Weekly Publication

Beginning with the next issue, on Aug. 27, Rice News will resume its weekly
publication.

Copy deadline for the calendar section is noon on Wednesdays, eight days prior
to publication. Deadline for the Aug. 27 issue is noon on Wednesday, Aug. 19.
