An open-access review in the Journal of Biological Chemistry by Rice’s George Phillips, a professor of biosciences, and Mitchell Miller, a research scientist in the Phillips Lab, discusses the present and future of protein dynamics analysis and the impact of the Protein Data Bank. The paper looks at progress in time-resolved crystallography that allow simple “movies” of proteins in action and new methods to map what they consider “life’s machines.”

Eden King, the Lynette S. Autrey Professor of Psychology at Rice, is this year’s winner of the Scholarly Achievement Award sponsored by the Human Resources Division of the Academy of Management. She received the honor for her paper, “Tackling taboo topics: a review of the three Ms in working women’s lives,” which was published in the Journal of Management.
