Tickets now on sale for Shepherd School concerts

Tickets for the Shepherd School of Music’s 2007-08 concerts are now on sale. The following events take place in Alice Pratt Brown Hall. Unless noted, events are free. Tickets are $10 and $8 for students and seniors. For tickets or more information, call 713-348-8000.

Oct. 5, 8-10 p.m., and Oct. 6, 8-10 p.m., Stude Concert Hall
Dvorak’s “Carnival Overture,” Strauss’ “Don Juan” and Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 5,” conducted by Larry Rachleff. Ticket required.
   
Oct. 7, 8-10 p.m., Stude Concert Hall
Mendelssohn’s “Piano Concerto No. 1” with soloist Wenli Zhou and Cristian Macelaru conductor, and Mozart’s “Symphony No. 36” and Ives’ “Three Places in New England” performed by the Shepherd School Chamber Orchestra and conducted by Larry Rachleff

Saint-Saens’ “Oratorio de Noel” performed by the Shepherd School Symphony Orchestra with the Rice Chorale and conducted by Tom Jaber; also Stravinsky’s “Danses Concertantes” and Vaughan Williams’ “Fantasia on Christmas Carols” conducted by Larry Rachleff
