‘All in the Timing’
Rice Theatre presents critically acclaimed comedy

FROM RICE NEWS STAFF REPORTS

Rice University is teaming up with the University of Houston to put on “All in the Timing,” an absurd comedy created around five of David Ives’ short plays, at 8 p.m. April 8-12 and 2 p.m. April 13 in Hamman Hall.

Presented by Rice’s Theatre Program, the five plays will be performed by nine Rice students and directed by University of Houston graduate students Jonathan Gonzalez and Samuel Sparks.

At once enchanting and perplexing, “All In The Timing” presents a world where chimps attempt to write Shakespeare, faux pas can be edited from conversations and Trotsky can live out multiple versions of his last day.

“Expect the unexpected with this performance,” said Christina Keefe, director of theater. “This critically acclaimed, award-winning evening of comedies combines wit, intellect, satire and just plain fun.”

“All in the Timing” won the John Gassner Playwriting Award and accolades from the New York Times.

Admission is $5. Tickets are available in advance by calling 713-348-PLAY or visiting http://theatre.rice.edu. Plays include adult language and themes.
