Rice U. political scientist available to comment on Obama-McChrystal flap

Rice University political scientist Richard Stoll is available to comment on the relationship between President Barack Obama and Gen. Stanley McChrystal.

McChrystal has come under fire for contemptuous remarks he and his staff members made about top administration officials in a magazine article.

“The president faces a tough choice,” Stoll said. “Should he remove the best general he has for the war in Afghanistan, or should he keep on a general who has been at least somewhat insubordinate?”

Stoll is a professor of political science at Rice University whose current research interests include the quantitative study of international conflict and U.S. defense policy.
